The 2011 Legislative Session started on January 5, 2011 with the swearing in of Governor Dannel Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman.  The new Administration is tasked with plugging a 4B dollar deficit for the FY12.

While there has not been introduction of any of the bills that we have feard were coming - similar to last year - we do anticipate pieces of legislation that remove towns and municipalities requirements to post public notices in newspapers.

There has also been discussion about a sales tax on newspapers, subscriptions and advertising.  The Governor's budget proposal, released on February 16th, should provide additional insight into how far reaching the cuts and taxes will be.
